Lovely place. We visited on a rainy Saturday so we got some really nice pictures that weren’t full of other visitors. Unfortunately there’s not a lot outside the castle. For some reason most of the shops here close on a Saturday, and a look round the castle only takes a couple hours, after that there’s not a great deal to do.

Beautiful and Romantic Castle. It is placed in the centre of Pembroke. I’ve been there so many times. And it’s always a new adventure to see this Castle.

This is a relatively well preserved mediaeval castle that over looks Pembroke Well priced with plenty to look at. If you have an interest in mediaeval Wales then this is well worth the looking at!

This has so much History that is taught it’ll blow your mind. It’s the birthplace of Henry the VII. War of the Roses, beginning of of the Tudor dynasty and all that stuff. Lots of walking and if you go to the tower where Henry was born… lots of Stairs. The best part of the tour, is the cave under the castle!

We did not enjoy this at all. We asked if it was suitable for a pushchair and a dog and were told it was it wasn’t. As someone else has said, you can’t do anything if you have a buggy with you. When we visited, half the castle was covered in scaffolding and there were loud machines shooting around. This spoilt the atmosphere greatly. The café was closed, there was nothing happening and we had a thoroughly miserable visit.

WE had good time here. When we came we asked if we’d be able to go round with a pushchair and were told we could — you can’t. My wife and I had to take turns to go off and explore and leave the other in the open area in the middle. The castle is mostly ruins but is still very impressive and they have made every effort to bring to life the past with artists impressions and history information boards. You can go down some dark windy steps into some dungeon area called the Wogan room or something which was good. The views are great, there’s a lake next to it if I remember rightly and the surrounding landscape is lovely. OK, it’s not up to Warwick Castle standards and it has less to see and less going on but it’s not as money-draining either. You need to take your imagination with you but that’s not a bad thing. I enjoyed it, and it’s not expensive. When we went there was an annoyingly rude American tourist there– as long as he’s not visiting again you’re sure to have a good day.

This is a great castle it has a long history and is the birth place of king Henry vii there is lots of information all around the castle. There are many rooms and winding stairs and a huge tower. The castle itself is in excellent condition considering how old it is. They have a small café where you can get something to eat and drink and a large grassed area in the middle of the castle. It is great value for money for a great day out.

Like other reviewers, I was impressed with the price. I thoroughly recommend the guided tour and I was blown away with the castle. It is beautiful and some very lovely scenes at the highest point of the castle made for some very striking pictures. We took a picnic and spend a large part of the day there relaxing and walking about the grounds. I’ll def visit again and I’d recommend this to my friends.

A castle with a long history. Children love it because they can run about in pretending to be defenders of the realm. Grand fathers love it because they can show off their knowledge of history. Parents love it because the children are running off some of the energy that has been pent up in a tent or a caravan. Something for all the family really. Don’t miss the underground cavern, storage space or dungeon is very atmospheric.

Don’t miss this place if you’re in Pembrokeshire. First of all I was impressed with the price, very reasonable and one pound for an guided tour! the 10 year old with us was a bit sceptical that the tour would be any good, but within ten minutes the guide had taken us right back to the days of Owen Tudor. Brilliant. Note that the place is mainly a ruin with no fancy furniture and limited refreshment facilities, but is very atmospheric if you like that sort of thing.
