The Works

I’ve always been a fan of the Works, this one is my favourite as its compact which means I get «just enough» browsing time for my purse. My family and I often get each other little gifts from the Works just to say «happy Tuesday» or whatever because they have such a range of art & craft things as well as books in Scottish history, kids toys, character branded items like Minions & Frozen, stickers, stationery. So much for a teeny tiny store. Staff are nice and will always help you find what you’re after if you ask, or leave you to browse if that’s what you prefer.
Amazing range of books, including 80% off cookery books today. Many famous names. I got Delia’s «frugal food» in hardback for only £2! That should help me save some cash from all these Unilocal food bookmark splurges ;)

This is a great branch of this well known store, absolutely full of large numbers of cut-​price books (probably the best value you’ll find anywhere), greetings cards, stationery, toys, DVDs (including low-​priced box sets) and so much more. It’s also very good for craft-​making things and art supplies. At the moment it’s a good place to go for stocking-​fillers and other Christmas gifts, plus wrapping paper, sellotape and other useful items. Found in the Piazza Shopping Mall which is under cover and easy to find, close to the centre of town.
