Rick’s deli was a welcome haven from the cold when my girlfriend and I arrived in Padstow following my cycle ride down the Camel Trail We had intended to have fish and chips at Rick’s fish and chip shop but it was shut. There was a sign on the door saying they were being hosted by Rick’s deli We were a little disappointed when there turned out to be no cooked food available — fish fried in beef dipping sounded exactly what we needed as a reward for our exertions. One of the cashiers was kind enough to recommend another place in town for fish and chips As a foodie, I was never going to leave without a browse round the deli although the lack of access to refrigeration meant we couldn’t buy anything to take with us. It all looked delicious though the prices reflected the price expected of a high end deli in a tourist trap
