Sadly now closed. Yet another pub in Marston gone forever probably to be reinvented as a Tesco. The last 3 months has been one of the worst ever periods for pub closures in Oxford. The once-​lovely Radcliffe Arms in Jericho, the Brewery Gate and the Cavalier. I’m sure there are others.

I’ve never know a pub change hands as much as this one! I do like it in here though, it’s a big pub and is in a nice location. The beer garden is average sized but nice, and there’s plenty of smoking areas. You get lots of locals in here, but they are all pretty friendly. I’m not sure who owns it now but I’ll be popping in to find out and will report back. Have been going in this pub for years and had many parties in here. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster with the amount of owners, but it would be nice to see this pub really take off as it’s got so much potential.
