This Starbucks is located on the main high street. It is a good size Starbucks but I was in a rush when I came here so didn’t pay much attention to my surroundings. I did get a standard caramel machhiato to go and was very impressed with the quick service. The staff were efficient and very quick. I know I would come back here if I was in Oxford.

I’m not a big coffee fan, I’m more of a tea person but I needed to kill time so I went for a drink. This Starbucks has little seating and is just full of people using the wifi and taking up the lack of space there is. It didn’t help when I asked for a cup of tea and they gave me a cappuccino then argued with me saying I was wrong. Also Starbucks make their own tea bags and it just tastes like warm funny coloured water. Enjoy.

#449 One of the worst Starbucks experience I’ve ever had. Of course, after a quick run-around of City Centre, we were tired and craved a warm drink. The other Starbucks locations was filled to the brim with people and the same goes for Georgina’s. So, we had to settle on this particular location. Walking in, it looks just like any other Starbucks location. However, once the relatively long line started scooting its way closer and closer to the cashier, I was in for the worst manager-employee shows ever. First of all, the main cashier was pregnant and looked incredibly frazzled — hair askew and apron on crooked. She had a dead expression with hollow eyes — not inviting. At the same time, she also lacked a marker to write down drink orders onto the cups. So, every time someone put in their order, she had to make sure she had the manager’s attention to tell them what the order was — not efficient. Then, there was the fact that the manager was incredibly stressed out because she had to not only make drinks, but also memorize the orders as they came in. Now, I understand being stressed out, but after I put in my order, she spent the next 15 minutes of my wait barking orders at a mousy-looking third employee, who nervously followed her directions — grabbing an extra marker, refilling the napkin containers, etc. On top of that, the manager also managed to keep track of paying customers and non-paying customers and made sure to embarrass those who did not pay for a drink as they made their way to the restroom in the back of the store. She was cold, mean, and condescending. Ugh. And the cherry on top? Our hot chocolate came out cold and grainy.

Busy Oxford Starbucks. People sitting in store weren’t actually drinking coffee and just taking full advantage of the warmth and the free wifi. Coffee was okay, Starbucks standard. Shame it took 5 minutes to get our coffees put from«drink in» to «take out».

This is a decent Starbucks but as other reviewers have noted, there aren’t many seats. This can be killer on the weekend but isn’t such a problem during the week, when I think if anything it’s quieter than the Cornmarket branch. Most of the seating is geared towards singles or small groups. It’s pretty peaceful upstairs in the mornings and the staff are decent. Some of them have worked there for years and lend a friendly face to what could be an anonymous chain.

Not bad — a typical chain coffee shop. I personally prefer Costa.

When punting the Thames tires you out & you’re done watching the Cricket match, come on over to Starbucks to connect your iPhone to FREE wifi. Coffee just like we come to expect — cool jazz playing & Univ students mingling. For someone who is anti– chains, I’m lovin Starbucks

Not very excited about this one, the internet was not working and I did’nt find out until I had my coffee. Its very busy and at times can be difficult to find seating. Usually preffer to walk down to the coffee republic.

A Starbucks is a Starbucks. Everything you would expect is available, the wireless internet is excellent and the coffee is to the same standard as their other stores. There is a healthy dose of students though, these can vary from somebody working quietly to a loud group, so it is worth scouting out your table before you sit down.

Starbucks is usually full of students or people on lunch reading the paper, they have big comfy chairs upstairs and also the usual table/chair selection. There is usually a bit of a que but it tends to not take very long to get your drink as the staff seem to be very well trained. Im not a huge coffee drinker but i do like it now and again. Its funny to ask for a coffee but to have to say ‘grande coffee’ or something similar that makes you feel silly. I did say medium once and that worked just fine ;) My favourite hot drink is the white chocolate hot chocolate although i am not too sure if thats a regular menu drink or one of their now and again specials. The frappacinos are a regular fix though and the caramel one is to die for on a hot day. If your feeling extra naughty you can have whipped cream on top. In london they charge for the whipped cream in some places but its free here. There are hot chocolates, mocha coffees, latte coffees, espresso coffees and at the moment being nearly Christmas they even have a gingerbread coffee. I have yet to try it but it’s nice that they change with the season! :) The coffees are not cheap, you would spend £3.50-£4 on a drink easily. They propbably have cheaper ones but they probably do not sound as exciting. They serve cakes, sandwiches, muffins and alike but again these are not cheap. I had a slice of cake for £2.95. It was a nice carrot cake but still very pricey for what it was. If you eat in you are charged an extra 50p but there is not much seating on the main street so probably best to pay. The upstairs is nicer than downstairs because you get to watch the busy shoppers going to and fro without them looking up and seeing you. All in all, Starbucks is a typical chain coffee house serving good but slightly pricey coffee. Probably best to have one as a treat now and again.

Starbucks is yet another of those rather ethically dubious comforts which are nonetheless loved by students and other café dwellers nationwide. Once you can get past the complication of selecting a drink(good luck if you just ask for a ‘coffee’, rather than a ‘skinny mocca with espresso but no cream’), the drinks are very nice. I’m not a coffee drinker myself, which may well bias my opinion of what is, by and large, a coffee shop, but there’s an unusually good range of hot chocolates and the sizes are generous. Sadly, it’s all a bit sophisticated, so no chocolate sprinkles or marshmallows, but the specials are very sweet so that may be overkill. The prices are best forgotten about — you’ll have to pay about 50p extra to eat in, and you’re unlikely to get much for under £3. There’s a tempting range of muffins, cookies, brownies and similar snacky treats, but they’re all rather pricey for what they are, with a tiny square of cornflake cake(you know, like you used to make when you were little) costing £1.30. If you’re feeling rich, the cheesecake is very tasty. The atmosphere inside is as nice as can be expected from a generic chain coffee shop and you can sit there undisturbed for as long as you like, which you’ll certainly find yourself doing if you manage to grab one of the squishy armchairs!
