This chain electronics store puts the customer first and has trained their staff well. It’s a comfortable store to shop in with items for your car, office, mobile, school, and even some good lighting for the garden.

I visited Maplins in Oxford as I wanted a wireless telephone socket. The selection was small, but it is quite a specialist item. The assistant was very helpful, James served me and took time to explain how the item I was looking for would work with my Sky Box to allow movies as you need a telephone connection. I was sure that i had seen the item online with a discount code, without this they wouldn’t reduce the price, not the salesmans fault, he said they needed to scan a discount voucher at the till. I understand this, my own fault for not taking it in with me, lesson learned. Never the less a good experience, I got what I wanted, they were helpful and polite and I will definitely use them again.

Another big electronics superstore, like Currys and similar. I’m not an expert, but I think it’s a bit more specialised than somewhere like PC World; it often assumes some prior consumer knowledge. This is a good thing, though — it doesn’t dumb down its products and the staff are very approachable. It’s worth going when they have a sale on — check out their website for details. In fact, it’s quite good to look on the website before going, so you have an idea what to look for and can read up on the products first.
