Been going here on and off for a while, but not any more. The male staff were always gruff and frankly rude(check out Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi episode and you’ll get the picture) but I let it go because the food was tasty enough. Then one lunchtime the main man got the hump in no uncertain terms because, having served my very well-mannered three-year-old a kibbe(made from crumbling mince), he spotted the child having the temerity to let some crumbs fall onto his seat. No! No! Crumbs! In a café! Aaargh! The bloke grabbed the seat, raced out into the street and tipped it upside-down on the pavement, muttering under his breath, much to the astonishment of myself and queuing customers and the shock of my little lad. The bloke angrily informed us he wouldn’t be serving us kibbe again and I am happy to confirm that this will be so. ! I’ve spent a couple of hundred quid in there over the years. I won’t be going back. These guys have a lot to learn about customer service.

More middle-eastern than Indian. I’m surprised the other reviewers say this place is expensive cos generally I’ve found it quite reasonable. I like the lunchbox of the day but the individual delicacies are all worth a try. Several times I’ve had large catering hits organised from here and they’ve always been fantastic.

The general gist: Lebanese take-away. The good bits: — Very tasty — Makes a change from paninis, Chinese or fast food — The food is pretty healthy — Efficient service — The menu is in Lebanese with English explanations The bad bits: — It costs quite a lot — worth the money, but maybe better as an occasional treat or a one-off experience. — The décor — it’s tidy and nice, but not particularly original, Lebanese or homely. — Not many places to sit — sometimes it’s too cold to eat outside or too far away from home to take home. Don’t know what Lebanese food is like? — Think: Hummus, Nuts, Baklava, Halloumi The best dishes: — Raha(Turkish delight!) — Warak Enab(stuffed vine leaves) — Kallaj(like a cheese toastie!)

The food is good but expensive. The best value things are probably the soup of the day and the lunch boxes. The lunch boxes mean you get a selection of lots of different foods without accidentally spending too much. I find if I have a little pot of this and a few of those pies then I very quickly go over my budget. but you do get what you pay for — the food is delicious. There are a few chairs to sit on inside and a 2 tables and a few chairs outside. The staff have been known to smile at my children and the children have even been given a free taste of some goody but I do know what frugalfun means about the staff being slightly forbidding.

This is a a kind of Middle Eastern take-away deli. The food selection is comprised of a wide variety of authentic Lebanese dishes, seasoned exactly as you’d expect it would be in the Lebanon. Everything is delicious and well presented behind the display glass, and the establishment would earn five stars in this review if only it wasn’t so expensive, and if the staff were slightly cheerful(they are polite and efficient but always seem very stern and slightly less than enthusiastic or welcoming). I’ve never seen any of them smile!
