I’ve had the pleasure of stuffing my face at Kork’s twice now and it’s a sure fire decent meal, perfect for the entertaining of boyfriend’s mother on those occasions when simply throwing her into the fish and chip shop with a crisp fiver and smart smack to the rump wont suffice. The food is competant if rather unchallenging for the price, the portions are decent without being overly generous, the staff are smart and welcoming if a weensy bit fluffyheaded and there’s a good bar with real ales and decent wines. Kork’s doesn’t excite me in a wibbly nipples kind of way but it is a worthy enterprise and perfectly suited for the target clientele. Classy but friendly, not pushing the boat out too far and a very decent bit of nosh for a fairly reasonable price. Just one word of advice, if like me you like straight lines then keep your eyes to the floor. Not a single painting on the wall is straight. Not one. I’m still twitching.
