As regular reader of my reviews will know, I am currently on a long, painful search for a barbershop, that matches my needs. I thought I’d found it in Town Barber(s) but I haven’t. This store is located near the market and GAME store in Oldham City Centre, with Oldham not being a big city, you wouldn’t expect high city centre prices, and I had to pay £8.50 and in all honestly, I would of expected to be paid that after my experience. The barber never spoke to me, she just carried on talking with other barbers, talking about their own personal lives and experiences at the pub, which honestly should be reserved for lunch breaks, I came out of the barbers, relieved to be ridden from that torrid to listen to conversation, honestly I strongly feel that she should of paid more attention on me, I don’t like being pestered with chitter-chatter from my hairdresser but a little«How are you? «and«How has your day been?» is nice. She did ignore me on a few times, cutting it far too short and putting gel on when it really wasn’t needed, hence I look near enough bald and I’m sadly having to admit that. I hate my hair being this short so that is a shame. She also caught me on a couple of occasions, and she also stopped for short periods of time, to get her point through in conversations, with 2 barbers in particular, who were just sat their with no work to do, which gets me onto the overstaffing problem. One of the only good things about this place is the good location in central Oldham and it being open, when most other places would think about closing on a Sunday but still does that warrant a high £8.50 a haircut charge? I think not. I honestly think they were overstaffed, they was more barbers than people, they must of been 4 or 5, all this isn’t necessary and is a big cause of the problem with the barbers, where the customer gets ignored for chitter-chatter between themselves, so along with the pricing and the terrible haircut, I feel this place is a worthy 1 star establishment.
