I went here today for my lunch The salt cellar is on church lane Across the way from the up steps inn It has expanded since I was last here its a nice place popular with the older generation. They have a lift for the disabled to take you up the few steps off the lane so its accessible for the disabled there is of course the toilets to Then you go through to a fairly large room .with more stairs to go up into the arches it you prefer Church windows are to be admired the tables are of the old style and there is one or two pews Cottage like chairs no outside seating here The menu is very basic, soup n roll Sandwiches all kinds Jacket potatoes with all sorts of fillers Dinners concise of pies cottage and vegetables no chips (sorry Arron no gluten free) But it is a busy place I had a simple lunch of cheese on toast and a pot of tea served by a dear old lady proper cups and saucers teapot milk jug so nice that prices range from £2.30 up to £5.70 so I rated it three stars but 8⁄10 good manners,

Last year I went to the Salt Cellar Restaurant in Oldham. this is not normally the sort of place that I visit but my grandmother seems to like it there so I went there last year for a Christmas dinner in December. The price of the 3 curse meal was only £7.95 and for what you get you really cannot complaint. The food was nice, it was nothing special but it was good and quality. The restaurant itself looks a bit dated and I think it is more aimed at the elderly people because they seem to have a lot of offers on for pensioners. I was one of the youngest people here but I recommend it if you have an elderly relative or friend that is looking for a decent meal in December at a reasonable price. I would go again, probably not with my friends but with an elderly relative.
