Is unsure why a **bakery** would open on a Sunday if there are no **baked** goods on offer other than oven bottom muffins? Planning a bbq on a Sunday, visit to a farmers market and a visit to a bakery is surely all you need? Well apparently when you forget to bring home bread from your own bakery, it ain’t easy to get some on a Sunday. Literally all this bakery had on show were oven bottom muffins, pre packed gingerbread and some jam tarts. None the less the queue was out of the door — for sandwiches. The service was very slow — took about 15 minutes to pay for my muffins and then the miserable girl gave me the wrong change and tried telling me I was wrong when I corrected her that the change from £2 for a £1.20 pack of muffins should be 80p not 60p. The muffins were actually ok when we got round to eating them so that’s where this place earns its stars. Selection was poor and service was worse.

Its great! I moved away from Saddleworth a few years ago, but everytime that I go home, I go to Buckleys to get a sandwich. Not only that, I am yet to find a chocolate brownie that is anywhere near as good as the ones that they sell at Buckleys!

This is one of the best bakeries in the whole wide world. Who cares about dieting when you have one of these places on your doorstep? I sure don’t! The thing is I have a weakness for vanilla slices, you know the ones with pastry and custard in the middle like a sandwich? Well they are my obsession. It is pretty bad. So whenever I have a craving which is basically every weekend, I have to go here and get me a vanilla slice. But then I come out with a box of different cakes as well as my slice and a sandwich possibly a pie and a drink! A whole meal deal. Let me tell you another thing about this place. It is so cheap. When I went the other weekend, it was a case of cakes, pies for two and it came to £3.00. For me that is seriously cheap, when I have Mr Greedy to cater for. Everything here is homemade from the bread to the pastry. I love this place so much it is that popular they have two shops. I would prepare for a wait though, or even get there early as it is ALWAYS busy.

This is a fantastic bakery in the centre of Uppermill that sells pies, pasties and sausage rolls. They also sell fresh bread, rolls and french sticks. They have a good selection of cream cakes, biscuits and homemade cakes. They are also good as they will provide catering for you. I have ordered meat and potato pie, chilli and lasagne to take away. These are trays that will serve around 10 people and are very competitive in price, as well as very tasty! They have a full price list that you can take away. The staff are friendly and courteous and the queues are well managed. It is on a bit of a corner so you have to park on a side street nearby.
