You can’t see it working on Dragon’s Den can you? «I’d like the money to open an authentic Portugese café and delicatessen in Oldbury». Yet Bicafe is just that, and the quality of its wares and service matches my surprise at finding it where it is. For 95p I sat in the window watching Oldbury stand still whilst drinking a lovely pot of tea from a massive cup. In the background, a tele was showing a Portugese soap opera(no, really) whilst flags and other native decorations cover the red and green walls. The guy behind the counter was lovely and very helpful. Even though they didn’t have a tray for my tea, he helped me carry the stuff over. They sell Portugese beer, Martini and authentic Portugese food as well as bog-standard English cheese sarnies and brews(I also noticed a toastie maker behind the counter). The place is open 7 days a week(including 9 – 8 Mon-Fri) and I will definitely be swinging by there again if I’m ever in need of a relaxing cuppa. If you’re ever in Oldbury, you should consider it too.
