This is the best pub in Oakham, I’d say.
With a selection of its own beers, which are showcased in beer festivals nationwide, there is something for everyone — dark ale, wheat beer, lager… its great that a local brewery has made a good name for itself and has a nice selection. Just FYI, ‘Cooking’ is my fave. Oh, and they all come at northern prices… GET IN!
The pub itself has a really nice relaxed ambiance, with a darts table and plenty of room outside to sit and have a beer on a nice summer’s evening. The clientelle are a nice bunch, without the immaturity you get in other places in this largely young-​crowd town.
Long live the ‘store.
