The Walkabout Inn

Walkabout doesn’t pretend to be anything else. It’s a cheap, drink all you can and watch the rugby kind of place. And if the rugby’s on, like the current Autumn Internationals, then there is often no better place. The Aussie’s love their sport, and there’s always goodnatured banter/​sledging with the bar staff. It’s probably not the place you’d want to go on a date, but if you need a big projector screen and enough room for all your mates, it’s perfect.

Walkabout is a good place for watching sporting events in Nottingham. It gets extremely busy on major events, but on other nights it doesn’t seem to get as busy as it used to.
The bar seems to attract weird old men who, if I’m honest, sort of look out of place break dancing to Run DMC. Although, I did wonder if it was some sort of promoter to get the crowds in!
There is a big dancefloor and staged area and the music is generally very pop orientated. Perfer for a fun night out. As with most walkabout bars the toilets are a bit of a trek! There is also an upstairs but that only opens when the bar is busy.

What town doesn’t have a Walkabout in it these days??! And thankfully Nottingham is no exception. The formula stays the same in this one as in any other I have visited — good long bar, one huge screen, plus a dozen or so smaller screens scattered around for those sporting events you want to catch.
There is also an upstairs area at this one, but this tends to only open when the place is very busy, so not regularly opened up as the downstairs is normally big enough to cope with demand.
There is also the chance to get a few reasonably priced drinks in this bar too compared with others in Nottingham. Certain days and times have offers on, but even without them I would say drinks are fairly priced.
If you come here for the night then it tends to be a place where quite a few people choose to end up. Music is never going to rival the clubs of Ibiza, but once you have had a few beers then singing along to the old favourites will be just perfect.

Good place to go for food and drinks. They have a big screen so its a great place to go to watch football. They also serve some really nice food. It is £3 to get in after 11pm. They often have some good offers on drinks. They have a discount card that you buy from the bar and register online and then you can save 25% on further purchases.

The usual Walkabout bar. Good place to watch TV sports with friends, massive big screen at the back with other screens dotted about the place. Food is good and well priced. Standard lagers on tap, nothing special.

Alternative to loud packled nightclub and good deals on drinks cheap alcopops.

In day meals are good — Kangaroo steak and crocodile!
Really friendly staff. We alway go out on the town and if we don’t frrl like a club will go to Walkabout for a laugh.
