10 real ales with at least a couple of Magpie beers available. I went for different bird/fowl altogether, getting Duck & Dive which is a smokey beer from the Mallard brewery.
Unconventional layout and a far from humdrum food menu (including customisable hot dogs and their own take on tapas).
Much of the seating has a view out to Nottingham Castle.

Split level pub selling local beers and site brewed craft beers at a reasonable price. décor a bit sparse but very suitable for the larger group.

A nice bar, specialising in «craft beers» (a rather ill-defined term, some of them are real ales, some keg brews with unusual flavouring; some made by micro-breweries, others at larger outfits as experimental brews).
Beer is in general quite expensive and rather strong (beer duty tends to make these go together), though being able to buy in 1/3, ½, ²⁄₃ or pint measures helps, especially when trying something unusual that may not appeal by the bottom of the glass.
Décor is interesting: the seating which looks to be made from old barrel staves (not sure if it actually is though) is more comfortable than it looks.
Can be difficult to find somewhere to stand at weekends without getting in the way, due to the central bar with a relatively narrow gap between it and the back of the room.

What a great addition to the Nottingham craft beer scene! 10 real ales and 10 keg draught beers are on offer to suit everyone’s tastebuds. In addition, there’s a good range of real cider and perry as well as a great selection of bottled beers. For those not drinking alcohol, there’s an eclectic mix of fair trade soft drinks to try.
There is also a limited food menu on offer, and that’s the only bit knocking this from a FIVE STAR review, as compared to the beers the food was a bit more expensive and also not as good, so it’s definitely 5 Stars for the beer and probably 3 for the food.
