Craft fans rejoice! This store does feel a bit like a MacDonalds of all things arts and crafts — but once you get over the impersonal, chainstore feel, there’s lots to spend your hard earned cash on!
Personally I like the beading and jewellery-​making selection, which is pretty impressive. Lots of glass beads, acrylic, copper wires, findings etc — and stuff to also make boy bling, like packets of shell beads, cord etc.
The only real downside is the location, which is a bit of a walk from the city centre. Sure it’s great if you have a car because there’s loads of free parking. But if you’re on foot, you do have to make a special trip in a rather wind exposed and unattractive part of town!
As I don’t live in Nottingham, when I do go there, I don’t usually have a great deal of time to spend and have to rely on public transport and my feet to get from a to b. Consequently I tend to visit the central stores rather than make a special trip to the Lady Bay Retail Park. That’s really the only downside.

Fantastic craft shop located at the end of the Colwick loop road, Just outside the city centre. It has free parking and its near a burger king if your hungry ;O) Its full from floor to ceiling with art, craft, fabric, papers and paints. Whilst some items are dearer than you can find on the internet its great to be able to go there and actually see the item before you buy. They have great ’ how to ’ leaflets and craft days where they show you how to do things. Worth a visit for those crafty readers out there.

Hobbycraft is a huge place located on the Ladybay Retail Park, on the outskirts of Nottingham, with ample parking outside. It is the crafty persons heaven with anything and everything for making things. Great for buying the boxes or bags to make your own wedding favours or stencils and sticky bits to make your own cards. The only down side are the prices as they are a bit expensive. You could buy things cheaper elsewhere but the advantage to here is that it’s all under one roof, which makes it easier. Plus they have such a wide selection of everything. I sometimes go in there just to get ideas for things to make! Definitely worth a visit!

This store is great for being creative, this is located in a in a retail park and has great parking. This shop has all the bits for being creative and good for the kids and there arts and crafts

I hated it, one of the worst shopping experiences ever. Just needed one thing and none of the eejits working there could help me. There is no logic to the layout.

There doesnt seem to be much method to their layout and a map would be useful. Great if you want to personalise something or keep they kids busy on wet days. They also do instore demos. Somethings are exspensive, but if your looking to do your own things for say a wedding then it will work out quiet good.

I do like this store but I really think it is overpriced and if they could sort that out I think I would live in there. But great selection, they have the monopoly.

I love Hobbycraft! This is a huge megastore full of every type of art, craft, and hobby-​related item that you can possibly imagine! It used to be situated in the Broadmarsh Centre but it was moved a couple of years ago to these much bigger premises just outside the city centre. It can be a bit pricey but it has the benefit of having everything under one roof so you don’t have to traipse around the city looking for somewhere that sells buttons If you’re into arts and crafts you will think this shop is heaven!
