Yes, it’s a chain restaurant, probably hundreds of them exactly the same up and down the country.
Still, with their early bird special, you can get a good feed here at a decent price. The price of any main course includes unlimited trips to the salad bar, so I never bother ordering a starter.
With spitroasted chicken on offer, steaks, and some other more standard pub food fayre, it’s fine for an informal lunch or dinner. I’ve always found the service to be good, and the steaks to be of a decent quality. I’ve seen people having desserts there and they do look pretty impressive, although i’ve never tried one myself. I’ve never been disappointed here, but don’t feel I can award more than 3 stars to what is basically a glorified pub food restaurant. What they do, they do well, but there’s nothing outstandingly amazing about any of it. The infinite salad bar is a nice touch though, and I wish that more restaurants did this.
