This is the kind of place you want to know about. The location is out of the town centre itself, and between Hyson Green and Forest Fields. There is a great tram link at the end of the road, so there’s no excuse to drink and drive! There’s a warm and friendly atmosphere to the place — which has old thick carpeted floors, plates on the wall —(I think, — or even if it doesn’t it feels like it does) and altogether feels very homely. If you’re a beer lover there’s always plenty of choice, with real ales on tap. They have regular appearances from local bands, and mix of clientele is really nice. It’s people out for a good time — and it feels that way.

The Frog & Onion is another one of those real ale pubs along the tram line that may go unnoticed by visitors to Nottingham without insider knowledge. Positioned in the heart of Hyson Green it attracts both locals and real ale enthusiasts as well as supporters of the many local bands that are staged there. It is quite a busy pub but large enough to accomadate a fair few people. Bar staff & customers are friendly and welcoming. There is a pool table in the bar & a quiz night is held once a week.
