There is not much to see here, this place is mostly for people to appreciate birds and plants, but it’s tiny, with very few species and all too common. The best thing about it is convenient location. Walking around a green park improves overall health.

The budgies are odd, but its a lovely place to spend a sunny afternoon and provides some nice scenery amidst the hustle and bustle of Nottingham Trent University and Mansfield Road.

It’s not very big, and it seems to have a bit of a reputation for attracting the undesirables. But like Nottingham as a whole, this reputation is entirely unreasonable and inaccurate. It’s a wonderful place. Yes, the aviaries are a bit weird(do we really need this many budgies in a wire cage?) but on the whole it’s a nice undulating park that forms a good cut through from the Mansfield Road down to Nottingham Trent Uni.

The Arboretum is a small park in central Nottingham not too far away from the Victoria Centre — a perfect place to relax and while away an hour or two. It’s not huge in area, but still manages to pack quite a lot into a small space. The Arboretum pub is no more, unfortunately, but that still leaves the small lake(more of a pond really), aviaries and gardens to explore. Popular with students and the occasional dishevelled person talking to themselves, the Arboretum has character and it’s wonderful that a green space like this still exists in the city centre. Events are held occasionally.
