Friendly staff(Nathan) & owner(Mark) smiley guy. Freshly cooked haddock takes 8min. Vinegar 1st then salt. 25p tartar sauce Trying to find a butchers for future reference and stumbled on this place. Debated to go in or not because it would be a unhealthy greasy dinner. In the last minute while pulling out, decided what the heck, might as well try it out. The calories were well worth it. It was around 8pm and the had a lot of everything left except haddock, got a fresh one battered up and fried(it was still hot and crispy even after I got home and cleaned out my garage before eating it) When I walked into the shop, the smell of grease was unavoidable but it was very clean(waiting area and serving counter). The friendly faces of owner and staff reaffirmed my decision to stay and order. I asked what each item displayed at the counter was and decided to be adventurous and try out the eel. To my surprise it was very heavy meat and unlike the sushi(unagi eel) u have in sushi. It was delicious — both haddock and eel. I put the salt on then vinegar(but apparently not the best strategy as it washes away the salt– requiring me to add salt again). Luckily the staff told me how I should’ve done the seasoning… my noob experience of eating fish and chips English style.fail. My stomach loves me and my body wants to kill me, One last tip is to beware of bones. There were quite a few in the haddock but not much at all in the eel! I wish they made their own tar tar sauce too, Will definitely come back in the future though!

not the best chippy in norwich, but its ok. the fish is a good size, and they do a lot of other products besides — including battered pineapple which i find very bizarre! the chips are nice though. the prices are about right, especially considering the current financial situation, oil prices, cod resources etc etc. we went at the end of the night and they had loads left over, which they offered us at very very cheap prices as they would have had to throw it away, so that’s a top tip! hassome parking directly outside or over the road in Lidl(or is it aldi?).
