Arrived, we were seated promptly. We were given menus. Figured out what we wanted and the waitress took thirteen minutes to acknowledge us. We were ready to order by then. She didn’t bother to say, «Sorry about the wait». Just happened to notice another table sitting a while with no drinks patiently waiting with the look on their face of wondering when they will be served. We ordered the Meze set menu for two for £25.95. The food came out cold. There is nothing more unattractive then cold food. The Mediterranean food was mediocre at best. Honestly never had such terrible Greek food in my life. The chicken skewers were absolutely tasteless actually they tasted like wood. Tough and lacked taste. The calamari was over fried and was disgusting. The halloumi cheese was OK but how can you really screw up halloumi? The spicy meat balls were OK. Stuffed peppers were cold and not fresh. The spanakopita was decent. The champignons were OK. The service was so below the average standard. After the waitress took our plates away, we waited another good thirty minutes for her to acknowledge us and bring us the check. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. We saw several tables seated who got up and left due to none service. The place was quite busy. No offense to the British but they are easy to please and seemed content with mediocre Greek/Mediterranean food. I’m an American I’ve had the best of the best Greek food in America. I dated a Greek man for two years whose family cooked for me often. I’d like to say I know Greek food and honestly this place blows all around in every direction imaginable. Save your money. Seek Greek/Mediterranean(whatever this place is trying to market themselves as) else where. This place is expensive, the food is meh and the service stinks worse then rotten food.

OK having had a very expensive lunch, i felt compelled to write about it here. I didnt get offered the lunch menu and since it was after 3pm i didnt think it was still available So just 2 people, 2 starters, which were exactly the same taste as u get from iceland!! frozen whitebait in breadcrumbs, yuk, and a pork skewer which was so dry it could barely be swallowed. moving on to maincourse of 2 moussakashardly any meat, LOADS of sliced potato, and i didnt find a single slice of aubergine! another yuk and a side order of fries, more frozen nastiness, and a greek salad {side} which was over £5 and consisted of a handful of lettuce 2 pieces of pepper, a few onion pieces and half a tomato and wait for it3SMALLCUBESOFFETA, i spoke to waitress when she came to collect the plate and mentioned the 3 cubes of feta and was very swiftly and curtly told yes thats what you get 3 cubes, followed by would u like anything else? NOTHANKS . Apart from the dreadful food, i thought the interior was nice enough, as were the toilets, all clean although a very long walk to get to them, including flight of stairs. The service was ok, and the waitress was friendly enough, and cant help thinking that the curt reply has been a regular occurence! I would NOT go there again, and it cost £52 including 2 beers, and 1 glass wine.

Not fantastic value for money, as I felt the mezze was quite bog-standard and the bill seemed a bit steep, but the staff were friendly and very attentive to our pleas for a quick meal when we had a train to catch. We may have been lucky as the restaurant was not busy, but this was fairly positive compared with many other places we’ve randomly picked while in Norwich!

Oh dear, this is what happens when you go to a restaurant without having had a chance to check it out on Qype first! I was in Norwich at 4:30 and was attracted in bu the advert telling us that the lunch menu was served until 5pm, so decided to try it. The restaurant was almost empty. My waiter took the drink order, my usual pint of J2O and lemonade which cost a reasonable £2.85. I opted for the lunch meze, 2 dishes for £5.25. The squid was tasty, although it left too much oil on the plate. The shish kebabs looked and tasted as though they were from a frozen pre-pack from somewhere like Iceland. The tzatziki and garlic mayonaise were good, with the tzatziki containing generous proportions of cucumber. I ordered this with chips, which cost an extra £2. DONOTMAKETHESAMEMISTAKE. I complained to the waiter that they looked and tasted frozen and bland. He agreed but told me that that was ‘company policy’. To sumarise, if you take it for what it is, a glorified café serving frozen pre-cooked and packaged food at vastly inflated prices then do not bother. However if there was a change so that the lovely looking venue served food made fresh on the premises then this style of restaurant has a good potential. I suspect that nothing will change and so I cannot recommend it.

1. Artorio’s restaurant aspires itself on high quality London restaurants in my opinion. The food is of a good quality however for Norwich the prices are a bit too high. The location at Riverside is good to visit as it is near many bars, clubs, taxi ranks, multi story car park and a cinema for those who are driving. The food which was ordered was very tasty and there was a large variety for everyone’s taste buds. The wine menu did lack some choice however and most bottles of wine listed were far too expensive. Recommended if you have some spare cash.
