the club itself I think has a great atmosphere but it let down bar door staff that think they can talk to people like shit and the status and power goes to there head.
Man handling females is not good thing especially when it is door supervisor who is ment to set an example.
the place could be 5 stars if they didn’t have a rat standing there thinking he knows it all

This is not a gay bar. It’s more like a bar with gay staff and maybe on a weekend 30% of the patrons are gay, if that!
Friday nights is predominatly straight with gangs of girl and blokes getting tanked up on the cheap drinks!
Saturday night it’s open much later that all the other bars in town so come 1 o’clock it fills up with straights.
The atmosphere is very friendly however and everyone seems to get along fine.
The music is crap unless you’re under 25. The glasses are plastic and there is nowhere to escape the music apart from the garden. which is fine on a warm summer night but not so nice in mid-​winter.
Northampton could really do with a good gay bar that is intended mainly for gay people of all ages. I’m afraid The Boston Clipper is not it.

In here all the time and what can i say an excellent bar/​nightclub; the only gay bar in town and has been recently refurblished.
Generally quiet in the week busy fri, sat and sunday.
Friday it’s 8 quid in then 88p drinks, sat open till 6 then sunday the best night karaōke with 3 pint cocktail pitchers for 6quid.
Only 3 minor grumbles; normal drink prices are a touch higher then adverage;
so not the best place if ur on a budget but drinks still not ripoff prices (lava wkd is £4.30). On sunday they should shut @ 3 or 4. The air con is only a set of cieling fans which don’t do a good enough job on weekend nights in the summer
other then that eveything is flawless.

I’ve known this venue for about 6 years now. It is quiet on weekdays. But it’s safe and has a good ’ out of the way’ town centre location, very busy on Fridays nights with door entry fee which includes limitless free drinks. Also busy on Saturday nights !!. with different types of people on each night, Fridays being students and budget conscious individuals. It has a garden area for smokers, and whilst billed as a Gay Pub /​Club, its a mixed crowd, Gay, Straight, Young and Older. Nice friendly people with cheap drinks compared to other parts of the UK.

I used to go to this pub/​bar every week and i can honestly say that it has to be the best place to go in northampton, staff and other customers have to be the friendliest people i’ve met.
