Plough Inn

I’m not exactly sure how we found this place, I think it was recommended by a family member who lives «near.» (I use the quotes because Americans have a much broader definition of «near.»)
This place is really pretty excellent. We arrived for lunch. I had the eggs, ham, and chips, which isn’t complicated, but what I wanted and it was cooked well. Other family members had the fish pie (apparently excellent) and a salad with, i think duck, which was also reported to be very good.
The service was fast and friendly. They don’t take credit cards.
Why not 5 stars? Because my meal was fairly simple, though well prepared, so I don’t want to give 5 stars based just on that. I suspect it is capable of a 5-​star performance, so I’d suggest that you give it a shot.
