Lovely traditional pub, very unfriendly staff and regulars hogging the bar, if you want nice food and a friendly atmosphere i would go somewhere else, I visited on a nice Sunday daytrip and wish i had walked past! needs a re-furb and a clear out. In such a tourist/visitors area they need to move with the times like the other bars i found down the street! Felt like i had walked in to a saloon in Dodge City, Rubbish!!!

i visted the CUMBERLANDARMS tynemouth on sunday 18÷07÷10 and had very mixed opinions. while i was standing in the«top“bar it was not that busy,(may be 20) a few were dining and the food did look good, so, i decicide to try the roast. a fair size portion of under cooked veg, the beef was very fatty. also some of the staff seem to be very hard to attract if you are standing at the opposite end to where they hold they little coven, one chap had to raise his voice to get servedthen was greeted by the barmaid«DO I REALLYHAVETOSERVEYOU» the poor guy was really embrassed. i think it will be a long time before i vist here again !! also the(male) toilets arein a very poor state, they need to be given a good clean!!!

Warm and inviting, a great traditional pub, with both a bar, and lounge area with an open fire, very cosy. They serve traditional ales and beers including ones suitalble for Vegans. There is a seated area at the front outside for smokers and food is served and lunch time.
