I’ve had a few messy nights here with my football team and think these have been the only times I’ve visited Revs actually. Rev’s is done up up to look very upmarket. Lavishly red/dark décor with beautiful chandlers strewn across the ceilings decorate the club. However they don’t seem to attract the upmarket crowd. Offering a lot of 2 for 1 promotions and rows upon rows of shots, it seems it is the big night place to go if you want to blow a load of steam off. Consisting of two floors, the bottom floor is split into two. At the back is a dance floor with a bar and the front is a more convetial bar for people socialising rather than dancing. Upstairs is just a smaller dance floor with a bar in the corner. This seems to be were we always end up making fools of ourselves. The drinks are typically expensive as it is a nightclub in the city. However I think, I can’t quite remember, that I’ve had some really good nights there at the weekends. However last time I went to go with my friend and my lovely, a bunch of the scummiest scummers broke into the line to get in and has really put me off since to be honest.

Revolution is a popular bar in the days and nights. You can eat there in the day as it serves some lovely meals, and of course drink from the bar. There is an outside seating area which you can have your ciggys, and keep dry at the same time. It is a club which specialises in vodka, so offering you plenty of cocktails and vodka mixes. In the nights the upstairs is open for you too. Downstairs then playing dance/house music whereas upstairs plays the latest rnb/reggae.

A trendy bar that serves lots of different flavoured vodkas. It used to be John Henrys bar. It has an outside garden space which in the summer has a few barbeques — great for summer drinking. There are regular student offers for the local Newport University students. The music tends to be more of a ‘Dance and House’ genre, however they do play disco classics now and again. They have bouncers on the door and ID is normally required for entrance and there is usually a small entrance charge on weekends. The Revolution Vodka chain has other venues in Cardiff and Swansea.
