Tea for me please! This was the shop I discovered my dearly beloved Lindor chocolates back int he hay day that was my youth(not sure where the chocolates have gone since…). Anyway, since«maturing» I have delved into the fantastic world of different types of loose tea leaves and fruity teas. As a child, I always hated the elders bitty, bitter burning liquid that ended with soggy leaves stuck to your face drinks. But now I can enjoy them for health benefits and enjoyment in cute little teapots and mugs! This is THE sweet shop for serious tea drinkers with the many, many, many choices they give you, all the paraphernalia that s available and there’s lots of gift choices to choose from for that person you know who is armed with a mug in hand(or a cheeky present for yourself?). There’s a huge array of teas to choose from in such a little shop(too many for my tiny purse!) but everyday you can have a taste test(but please don’t be the idiot that can’t poor hot beverages and make them ban the taster cups so you have to awkwardly ask the same shop assistant time and time again to get a free scrumpy sip of heaven). Nothing says relaxing better than a good cuppa, am I right? I might also add, the hot chocolate flavours and instant tea mixes are the bomb.

Sadly this shop is now closing. Was in there last weekend and the shelves were almost empty. They still had mugs, other pottery, instant teas and some coffee and teas all at half price. There were also coffee machines(Gaggia I think) plus cafetieres which looked good value. I stocked up on their hazelnut coffee which I will really miss. Have visited there every few weeks for years and always found everything top quality. Such a shame.

I love this shop for the interesting varieties of tea and coffee they sell. They do sell teapots, mugs chocolate ect as well. Stuff that are a bit gifty, but you’d also like for yourself. They always have selected varieties on hand to sample. I find a a lot of the stuff seems to be on special offer most of the time so you can always pick up a bargain. Full priced merchandise is rather expensive though. The frequent sales are brilliant.

This is one of my favourite shops in the world, which is sad because it sells tea/coffee/hot chocolate. What makes this shop better is because it’s clearance so there is a constant sale on! Which is excellent at Christmas cause it means you can get some lovely gifts. I am in love with the hot chocolate here cause you can get lots of different kinds(and believe me i own lots of different kinds!) My favourite is the Christmas white chocolate and praline! You can also buy chocolate, tea cups, plates, mugs and even syrups so you can have your very own starbucks out of your kitchen! Newcastles Whittards is situated in Eldon Square and can be reached easily from the Northumberland Street entrance or the Monument entrance.
