We visited while in Newcastle. We went to eat here because of their great value on their food. Don’t let the value fool you, the food was so delicious! We had the carvery 2/£10 and it was incredible value for money. It was a Monday evening, the food was hot and fresh, service from all staff was top notch, and a great vibe and environment inside. It was busy as well. If you find a pub that is busy on a Monday night then it means they are doing something right! We will definitely be back the next time we are in Newcastle (which is every couple of months) and there are so many good options we want to try. Next time I’m getting a burger! The table next to us had burgers and when they came out they were massive and made my mouth water! Well done guys, well done! I can’t say enough about this place!!!

I’ve eaten at The Shire Horse a few times on a weekday, and we’ve never struggled to find a table, have been served quickly and the staff have always been friendly.
The pub is family friendly with a children’s play area outside and ample parking in front of the pub.
The menu options are good, well priced and I’d recommend checking out the lovely range of desserts!
