The gherkins in batter were a decent size and not too greasy. The chips were cooked to perfection and the burger itself was more than decent. Lunch time and pre-theatre menu are worthwhile checking out. Would eat here again.

Amazing burgers, chilled atmosphere with excellent service. My favourite spot in Jesmond.

Popped in here when in Jesmond over Christmas, having eaten at the newer City centre outlet earlier in the year. Service was disappointing. Staff seemed disengaged and more interested in chatting or eating there own meals(or listening to our conversation). Toilets were, to quote, grim! Drink selection wasn’t that great either. Food though is why you go here and it was awesome. Flavoursome and generally delicious! Would definitely recommend for a quick bite inbetween places. Good value for money.

Yummmmm… beer and burgers. Such a fun place to go! My friend and I came here for dinner and had a great meal. The atmosphere is really nice — sort of casual-elegant with wooden furniture and dim light from candles. Looks quite a lot sexier than you’d expect from a burger joint, but that adds to the appeal. They’ve got bottles of Blue Moon, which is very exciting for me, and they pair deliciously with all the burgers. We shared two burgers between us — I got the Stinky Pete(blue cheese, caramelized onions, jalapeños) and she got the classic American that comes with cheese, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. The Stinky Pete, obviously, was the clear favorite — I mean just look at those ingredients! I’ve had burgers before with wonderful-sounding toppings but yet somehow when you have the burger, the meat flavor overpowers and you can’t taste all the good stuff. This burger did not have that problem — it had all the sweet-savory-spicy pungency that you’d expect from blue cheese, caramelized onions, and hot peppers! Both came pink in the middle, and were juicy and indulgent. They both came with piping hot and crispy handcut fries, which I pigged out on shamefully. Burgers run about £8−10 which is a pretty good deal for something so fantastic and filling! I prefer this location to the Fat Hippo Underground, as here you’ve got actual windows and aren’t basically just eating in a basement. The Underground feels like a dive bar, but this place has a much more enjoyable vibe. Great stuff!
