I have been going hear for a few years now after work if you want a girly chat and some scrummy real Italian food and couldnt fault it. Especially the 3 course special at £6.95. Bargin for the centre of town! I am very picky about my Italian food and this is one place i have never been disapointed by or had to send anything back. Yeah its not the most flash of places but if you want good food then i would defo recommend Roberto’s. The only negative thing that can let the place down is sometimes the waitresses can be a little bit off at times and maybe as not as friendly as other places but all in all the food is yummy(Potatoe skins & Carbonara are a must!) If you book in a group of four or more you also get a free garlic bread with chesse on the house!

lets start by saying I am not the posh one, that would be my lass! if it’s good I say so, if it’s shit I also say so and just as loud(much to the dismay of my lass). been a few times, never had a problem. Saturday afternoons are our usual time and it’s either sea bass or the meatballs for me, starters are usually the salmon which tastes very fresh, but desserts are not their own and a bit limited in range, tastes ok though. Any food we have had from their own chef is always delicious and at a good price, their specials menu is also pretty cool. We love the place, not to big, cosy atmos and good well priced grub, if I had one thing to say it would be, make your own ice cream!

No. No No. We visited Robertos on Sunday evening.Terrible. Arrived at 5.00pm with booking. It took almost an hour to receive starters which arrived at various intervals. We left just after 7.00 without the main courses which we were promised«in 4 – 5 minutes, in 10 minutes and coming any minute».The front of house staff lacked professionalism. The young Italian Lady was at times quite off-hand and rude. Never again. Not even worth one star.

Visited at 6pm on Wednesday 7 January 2009. Sadly I can only offer a low rating for Roberto’s.I had intended to dine at Pinnochio’s next door but it was unfortunately closed. I had been to Roberto’s once before and decided to revisit .Keep in mind this is at 6 pm on a Wednesday evening. A caprese salad was not possible because they had run out of mozzerella .An Italian restaurant without mozzerella ! We ordered a mediterranean salad(orange, onion, olives and olive oil) to be served with the main meal only to be told 20 minutes later that we could not have it because there were no oranges. Our meals were mixed up. We had ordered a seafood spaghetti and a chicken penne pasta. They gave us spaghetti with chicken and seafood with penne pasta. As one of these contained cream we could not simply swap but then again why should we. The meals were returned but we had to wait 20 minutes for the replacements. There certainly was not much seafood to find in the spaghetti. On getting the bill we found they had overcharged £2 on the bottle of wine and when we attempted to pay by credit card we were told that it was not possible despite there being a number of cards shown in the window. When asked why, a disgruntled waitress showed us a small notice to the right of the second door in saying there was a problem. I think it would have been more appropriate to advise customers at the table. Fortunately, we had enough cash but what of those who did n’t. All in all, a very disappointing evening. Especially as it was a birthday meal. There will be no return.

Just had a really good inexpensive meal in the middle of Newcastle, on a Saturday afternoon and I couldn’t fault it. Located just at the bottom of Westgate Road this restaurant provides good quality food with large portions. I’m not one to leave food but even I failed to eat everything. There is a good selection on the menu and various daily specials along with happy hour menu from 11 – 6 at £6.95. I ahd potato skins and there was a mountain also served with a nice salad. The pizzas or a nice thin crust and the pasta portions are substantial. I had carbonara and there was more than enough bacon. The drinks are well priced as well. Service was really good, staff were really friendly and we were even given a complimentary cheesy garlic bread pizza. I’ll definitely be going back.
