Holiday Inn

Down to see a friend on a whim but managed to get a twin room Inc breakfast for £70.
The staff were lovely and it was great to have off street, free parking so close to the city centre.
Our room was on the third floor and it was clean, quiet and roomy. Didn’t have time to use the large TV but did appreciate the free juice, water & biscuits in the fridge.
Our breakfast was OK — you need to go to the adjoining restaurant for it — however it wasn’t anything to write home about. You can eat as much as you’d like Inc fry up, continental & cereal but I found it slightly soggy. Still it’s a minor niggle.
Thumbs up for letting us keep our car there after check out so we could shop without a huge car park fee.

Well appointed example of IHG’s mainstream Holiday Inn brand, located near the Jesmond Metro station.
Up to date rooms with modern facilities (WiFi, flat panel TV with movies on demand, laptop safe, air conditioning), and attached multi-​storey car park. Broadband internet speeds are, however, noticably slower than average.
Building layout a little strange — different lifts needed depending on which block of room numbers you are trying to access.
