It’s an at-scale Rouge I guess, although it thinks it’s better. The staff are attentive enough but it would have been nice if the other half’s Browns Burger had been delivered sans the lettuce/tomato as requested and the bun hadn’t been over-toasted. My fish and chips were lovely. Lots of people in the place so it was loud but not off putting. Would go again, she wouldn’t. My Manhattan was terrible. Far too watery but at least they delivered the right mix of product. Wine list about what you’d expect for somewhere fair to middling in the UK. Nothing at all special but do not avoid it. I did like the décor and the ambiance, minus those20 decibels.

Always plenty of seats(it’s a girl thing) to sit and enjoy the lovely cocktails. Never have to queue to long at the bar and the mixologists will make you a drink based on drinks you like and the food is good too considering its part of a chain

Hmm not my favourite destination in Newcastle mainly as it’s a little overpriced and pretentious in my opinion! Brown’s has definitely got a glamorous feel to it… very modern, spotlessly clean and ample comfortable chairs or booths for seating! The menu, although offering a large variety of different wines, spirits and cocktails, is very expensive. I met a friend after work and it cost me £5.75 for a single G&T which even for Newcastle is a bit steep. I’ve not sampled the food so cannot comment on that. The staff are very quick to serve you at the bar so the service is efficient but it wouldn’t hurt to look a bit more cheerful! This place is great if you fancy a quiet drink and easy conversation without having to worry about overly loud music. Overall it may be worth a visit but not if you’re on a budget.
