I don’t find this somewhere that I’d put on my list of favourites. I don’t think it has the same appeal that say Waterstone’s at Grey’s Monument has.
I think it tends to cater more for specialised studenty type material rather than basic best seller and popular books. The prices seem to reflect this.
They will order of course if they don’t have what you want in stock. Trouble is I waited quite a while when I ordered from here only to find a friend who ordered at the same time elsewhere only waited a week for her’s to arrive.
I think there are better bookshops in Newcastle unless you want something specialised for coursework.

There are better book shops around if you are after a general book and they dont usually have any good offers on though there is a bit of a sale on at the moment. The place really is good for students though They have a great range of law books they also have audiobooks and some cds If your after non fiction books this is the place to come to but if you want some light reading there are much better book shops in town

If you’re looking for something specific and you can’t find it in Waterstone’s or Border’s then it’s worth a look here. Situated right next to Newcastle University, this bookshop is frequented by many students buying course related publications and carrying briefcases. I have no idea why everyone carries briefcases but it’s just a general observation. A lot of maps are sold aswell as expensive art material. The staff are helpful and will try and order books in for you if they’re not in stock. The last resort is Blackwell’s when it comes to book buying.
