The Royal Oak

I have eaten at the Royal Oak a number of times, as their food is fresh and delicious and always served HOT!!! I felt that the price for the meals was fantastic and to be honest I have been other places where the food is more expensive and not of the same quality. Having a family of 5 we are always on a budget so tea out at the Royal Oak is very reasonable. The landlord and landlady as well as staff are well mannered and nothing is to much effort for them. Barry and Donna are always welcoming to their pub and it is a lovely end of the day. a home from home I should say.

Been here a few times with a friend and our 1 year old boys, to be fair i have gave them 1 star as their food is nice an reasonablly priced but their customer service is a disgrace!!! Last time we ate there we ate outside boys in high chairs dropped bits of food being on the concrete floor, my friend returned after that alone and got a few snide remarks made about it! We returned today ate outside again kids being kids left few chips peas biscuits on floor (and when i say a few i been probally a handfull of food) when leaving the manager was cleaning are table i appologised for the mess saying kids are kids, he responded by saying ’ you think im a di**head and this is funny’ i walked away to the bar to pay our tabs where i said again i did appologise for the mess it was 1 year old boys its not like it was done on purpose and i got ’ theres no need for it’ and can i remind you this is the landlord of this pub so who am i meant to complain too about this! I am really dissapointed as i dont think we deserved to be sworn at and made to feel bad for our 1 year old boys making a bit of mess (we even chose to eat outside so if there was a mess its not on the carpet) Afeter finding this place is local and has a play are for kids i was pleased but no way will i be taking my custom there anymore and i advise unless you prepare yourself for a mouthful and bad langiage and infront of kids you stay away! Disgraced with the service we recieved today!
