I visited Residence on a Friday evening to meet some friends for an engagement party. It’s a large, beautiful building that makes for a perfect restaurant and bar.
There’s plenty of choice on their drinks menu and ample, comfy seating. There’s also an upstairs area that is available to hire for functions.

This place is a bit up it’s own arse for my liking.
The staff thing they should be on Towie or Made in Chelsea and it’s clientele or feel they should’ve made the cut for the upcoming ITV Be drama Real Housewives of Cheshire, when really, it’s full fop oeple that live of mommy and daddy’s dollars. The cocktails are overpriced and full of watered down alcohol and the food is microwaved to it’s optimum temperature. High costs for a microwave meal.
Avoid like the plague.

Excellent venue as both bar and restaurant. Lovely building beautifully done. Food was very well presented, good quality and tasty. Service was attentive but no over the top. Prices are on the high side but worth it for a celebration. We will go again.

We have dined at residence many times and overall have a nice experience. However, there is always one thing that lets the restaurant down. Most of the time this is the lack of good service. Last time we went. We received the peoples food at the table next to us. Then when they realised they took it off our table and straight to the other table! Good thing for them we hadn’t started eating it! Another time a dessert we had seemed like it just came out a box and was not at all fresh, disappointing. Saying that the food is generally the best part and for that reason we will likely continue to go to residence.

The Residence is absolutely what was needed in Nantwich, as back in 2001 Nantwich only had Kershaw’s as a modern — forward looking venue. We have enjoyed many pleasant afternoons at the Residence with a bottle of wine, even though it is slightly more expensive than elsewhere we feel that it is worth it for the atmosphere. On the food side we have enjoyed a few good meals, but I think that for the cost they sometimes fail to deliver to the heightened sense of expectation that the venue promises.

If you fancy a day out, Nantwich is a lovely little village, with some stunning old fashioned buildings and The Residence is a superb Bar and Restaurant.
Do not be intimidated by the opulent, elegant décor, the staff are warm and friendly and everyone is made to feel welcome. Plus it does poke a little fun at itself with the grand paintings of Dog’s dressed as Gentlemen — sounds strange but the paintings are a must see!
The menu is extensive and theres something on there for everyone, a particular favorite of mine is the The Resi Full English Breakfast from the Sunday Brunch menu. You get loads!
Plus they have live jazz music playing in the bar while you eat, a little far from manchester, (hour and a half) but well worth the trip
