Very good lunch here for £28 for three courses, but you only had two choices for each course. Started with a glass of champagne in the lounge(small and cosy with leather sofas) where we were given menus and ordered our food. We were taken to our table just before the starter was served. I really liked this touch, but not sure how they could handle it on a busy evening. It was quiet for lunch and we had a great seat next to the window, but the waiter said they were fully booked for that evening, so reservations are required. The cured salmon starter was one of the best salmon dishes I have ever had and the homemade bread was absolutely delicious. I had the roast chicken(amazing) which had charred cabbage(surprisingly good) and sweet corn. Apparently it came with a hay sauce. The sauce was really good, but I didn’t taste any hay, which I’m not too disappointed about… The restaurant is in a slightly strange location as part of a family farm complex with tea room and petting zoo, but I can’t wait to go back. Easily the best restaurant I have been to in Leicestershire.
