Scotmid

A decent wee local Scotmid (part of the Co-​Operative) with great promotions that change every few weeks with great deals.
You can also pay your gas and electricity here, get phone top ups, pay your lottery etc. and pick up loads of bargains on reduced items such as bakery if you go at the right times.
It’s open till 10 which is also handy, even on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve and closes only on Christmas Day and New Years Day.
The further up North you go the more you find these wee local shops serving local communities, dotted around places that aren’t near big shops like Tesco, though this one has seen stiff competition from a few big rivals opening nearby in the last few years.
Friendly, with good promotions, but too dear for a big shop.
