First time I went to Milton Keynes. I just moved to Cranfield University on the same day and had nothing to eat. I went to Milton hoping to find a supermarket and finally ended up finding one just next to Jamie’s Italian. Well, Italian sounds good. Asian too. But… Wait a minute. Is that Jamie’s like in Jamie Oliver!!! Nope, I got no doubt anymore, we have to eat there!!! The interior is pretty cool, very clean and big so it doesn’t feel too crowded. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, taking the time to give us information about the menu. I got a fresh lemonade with peach which was very sweet but tasted like candy. I loved it. As a main, we shared a bowl of spaghetti with prawns and a creamy slightly hot sauce and a plate of lamb chops with a minty sauce. And it was insanely good. Believe me, I just came back from New Zealand, the country of the lamb and this one was as amazing as the best lambs from NZ! For the desert, we got a brownie to share with some vanilla ice cream to end a perfect dinner! Obviously the price was a bit high but it was worth it! I had an amazing dinner!! h

Some of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in a long while. The penne carbonara had perfect balance, amazed not too creamy or eggy and few flakes of bacon just bursting in smoky flavour. The squid ink pasta was divine. Definitely lots of small: starter portions way to go to try everything. Got the veg plate with fresh cheeses and lively pickled veg(inspired me to jar fennel at home!) Red wine was decent, paired well wth food Dessert was Jamie’s prosecco, surprising good with hints of fruit and pear, yet dry and went well with the chocolate coffee toffee roll thing :) Nice Italian server — Gem in the rough of Milton Keynes shopping centre…

If you remind yourself this is just another Chaingang«Restaurant» store, well then its definitely ok to check it out. Yes its like a tuned and polished Fast Food Joint with an open to see kitchen, lots of merch to buy and its all kind of eye candy like. And yes, the staff we talked to were very nice. The downside of such a place is that it always has a little sour«aftertaste» like youve been ripped of in some way and you dont know how.(Maybe its just too«professional») Just like e.g. a Vapiano when it comes down to the real(the food quality) it is just anything but special. The menu casts cool names, the dishes et al look great … but the food is just… well, okay… when say compared to the rest. In short: nice place but high expectations will disappoint you.

It was really good. I went there with my high school friend to catchup and it was lovely. The place is decent, the staff are every where trying to please us. The food was really good and i loved the way the presented it. i would go there again and again.

Popped in for an early dinner after a meeting in MK. Food was good — tasty and well cooked. The portion sizes are always good at this chain as well. Service is the only area where it missed a beat. The staff are attentive and probably great if you’re in a party. However asking a guy eating alone and reading a book if he needs anything else 6 times is a bit too keen.

Stopped off for a light lunch whilst out shopping. Had crispy squid for starter which tasted amazing, the squid was juicy and fresh and he coating was crispy and seasoned well. For main I had the fresh crab spaghettini, just the right size portion-wise and perfectly flavoured. The service was polite, prompt and friendly and the warier recommended his favourite dish of the day which sounded nice but was a larger portion, would have probably had it if it was for a dinner.

Dark, noisy, overpriced that sums it up. Staff tried their best but have to learn their speech by heart so it has an unpleasant corporate feel. Starters, mine was good, I am happy to admit though for the price rather small. The other from our party thought they were rather small too. The mains, mine was tasteless(no salt, no pepper, no herbs), in fact I should have returned it as on a very very bad day I would do better. Amongst the others several did not feel satisfied by 8 ravioli. There was nothing special on the dessert board so I gace up. As for the price, an absolute rip off. Finally though it has a direct exit to the street/car park do not expect to be staying late, they stop serving drinks(even soft) well before the closing time(11pm).

Me and my girlfriend first went to Jamies Italian, it being the first italian restaurant we have been to, it was a nice change than the same old same old places in the city. Me and my girlfriend agree, you don’t get value for money, the food was nice, however the plates were small, and you do not get filled up. Also the prices were extortionate, same cost would get you a lot more elsewhere.

The food is very good here but there were a few issues with other aspects of this new restaurant. The music was too loud and too upbeat for fine dining. The décor was rather industrial. The seating is suitable for a factory canteen but upholstery would have been nicer and more comfortable.
