I love this place and i love the food. People come from all over to get their tea, my mam woks with a lady who drives 10 miles with her cool bag to buy her takeaway here. you can stand and watch your food being cooked which is popular with the children. All I can say bad about this place is that he often shuts for several weeks to go on holiday and it should not be allowed, I hate it and I miss him no where else matches.

If you have never tasted a Saigons, you’re missing out. It’s located on a housing estate in Eston, tucked away among the houses so you might want to ring and ask for directions first! I was introduced to this place by my boyfriend who adores their king prawn curry(it’s a bit too spicy for me!). This placed is hugely popular with everyone who knows it and is usually heaving on Friday and Saturday nights with queues out the door and a crowd of people waiting inside. I think we waited for 40 minutes once for our chinese when we didn’t ring ahead! In terms of what they serve, they serve pretty much the usual chinese food but it’s unlike any I’ve ever tasted, the quantites are huge and it really is worth your money. One portion I reckon could feed two mouths. I pay a fiver for a sweet and sour chicken(cantonese style) and you get either chips or rice with it(rice comes boiled or fried). The staff are really lovely here, there are two women who usually take your order and then there are the chefs, there’s always service with a smile here! More often than not the locals strike up conversation with you as well.
