This hospital is the local specialist centre for Spinal Injureis and as such is excellent. Patients on this unit tend to be long stay and the staff are the very best. They go out of their way to be helpful and make every procedure easy, explaining ewverything as they go. This is also the case for every other area of the hhospital, so if you hhave a choice then please consider here

A really pleasant open airy hospital with very pleasant public areas. The whole place felt clean and tidy. The foyer area offered a nice coffee shop and some other shops including a jewellers. Better than most of the hospitals I have visited

This is main hospital on Teeside but there is also smaller ones in Redcar and Brotton. James Cook is huge with probably every department a hospital has. I will base my review on the A and E department as that is the one I have recently visited. I visited late on a Saturday night with a problem my sister developed. I drove in and found it very confusing where to go and park, we eventually park right round the other side so had a 5 minute walk in the freezing cold. It also cost £2.60. Absolutely extortionate I thought. We booked in with 2 very stressed ladies and waited for not long. Half an hour perhaps but considering it was busy I felt this quite quick. We were shown tubercles and waited another half an hour for the nurse to see to my sister. He was lovely although very busy. Overall I thought it was quite an efficient service and was quite clean the bits we saw. Defiantly didn’t see any of the horror stories I’ve heard. I should imagine if you had to find a department though it would be very easy to get lost as it is absoluty huge.

james cook hospital is on marton road in middlesbrough, the hospital itself is massive and you can easily get lost, 2 downsides to the hospital are trying to get in and out at peak times, and the biggest is having to pay when you visit the hospital shocking
