Excellent choice for dinner. I had the lamb stew and it was out of site! Tender, delicious and nice size portion. This restaurant’s only shortcoming was no Guinness on tap. Everything else was exceptional.

Fab cocktails and right on the high street. If you don’t see a drink you fancy the bartenders will make you up a concoction to order. Very accommodating but also gets very busy!

The crispy duck is the best one I’ve had. The sauce was so good, I was trying to get all of it off the plate even after it was nearly spotless. We stumbled upon this place when travelling through Buckinghamshire and we loved it. Ended up eating at the bar, because we didn’t have a reservation and it was fully booked(good sign!), so if you can, call ahead. Not sure what to do after lunch? Head over to Hughenden Manor a few miles away from Marlow, a residence of Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, who lived here from 1848 to 1881. Plus you can visit the gardens to walk off the crispy duck you’ve just had. Enjoy!

Finally stopped in for dinner. I ordered the special which was halibut with lemon sauce and french fries. The halibut and sauce were delicious. The only problem was they only brought one basket of french fries for my friend and I and we each should have had our own as both meals came with fries. The service was good at the start of the dinner but then quickly went in the toilet as the restaurant became more busy. No one ever stopped back to ask how our meals were and therefore, we had no opportunity to enlighten them on the french fry mishap. Plus we were constantly flagging down staff to get additional drinks. My husband had the malayan chicken and said it was great. Back to the service… we ordered our first round of drinks and after waiting 25 minutes, we had to flag down a server and ask for them again. They were finally delivered about 10 minutes later. As far as service goes in the UK, this restaurant has better service than many but it is still rubbish in my opinion. I don’t like to have to ask for drinks and I don’t like to be put in the position of flagging someone down to tell them that half of my meal is missing. It is very irritating.

We were visiting the area on Valentine’s Day, so I booked up in advance to ensure a table. The place had a great atmosphere, and the staff were very attentive and helpful. I found the food to be of excellent quality and about what you would pay for a restaurant in the area. We both went away very happy

Marlow Bar and Grill is a lovely upmarket restaurant in the centre of town, just at the bottom of the high street. Starters and desserts are in the region of £6, and mains around £10−15. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is really great, it is mostly European style. My favourites include their fish and chips and great steaks. The desserts are also really yummy, especially the chocolate puddle pudding. Drinks are not cheap, but are very good quality. The atmosphere in the restaurant is usually really good and always seems to be busy. There is also a nice, but small bar area.

I was totally unimpressed with this restaurant located in the centre of Marlow High Street. It looked lovely from the outside, very modern and trendy and the location is great, but I have now been there on two occassions and on both I was very disappointed. I thought the portions were small, the food was over-priced and if you are drinking it seriously bumps up the price of the bill. The first experience was the worst as I went with a group of friends, one of which has a mild nut allergy. Despite us checking the dessert she was ordering didn’t have nuts, which the wiater assured us it didn’t, it arrived on an amartti biscuit. Luckily she’d only taken one bite and her allergy isn’t severe,. She managed to escape just with a tingly lip, but the consequences could have been much more serious for someone else. I wouldn’t go back out of choice, although the bar area may be good to pop into for a drink if they let you drink without eating.

Since I’ve been travelling out west for work, we couldn’t help but drop into this bright, airy and attractive restaurant for a quick business lunch. Of course, Marlow’s not the best place for a quick business lunch regardless of where you go, and I can at least confirm the Marlow Bar & Grill caters well for the local crowd. With an almost empty restaurant at noon when we arrived, they asked if we first wanted a drink at the bar while they prepared our table(all tables looked well set already). Of course, I take this as a sign of courtesy rather than anything malicious. Our waiter asked if we wanted an appetiser and after explaining that we had to get back to work(with a surprised face) he promptly handed out the menus collecting drink orders giving us ample time to peruse. The menu is, best described, as eclectic with sections highlighted as seafood, meat, pasta, salads and sides. I’m always a bit sceptical of places that do a mix of different cuisines and this place is no exception including Thai(a green curry), Chinese(crispy duck and asian greens), pub food(bangers and mash, fish and chips) and Mediterranean(mezze). I stuck to something a little bit more core, the grilled organic salmon with peas, broad beans and broccoli served with hollandaise sauce(£14.95). The salmon was perfectly cooked as were all the green, bright, crunchy yet not raw. The hollandaise sauce also had that perfect amount of tang and richness. Service was reasonable throughout, with the waiter leaving us to our food except for dropping by to ask if we wanted more drinks. Unfortunately our waiter didn’t really take note of our our requirements and instead of asking us for the bill, instead offered us coffee and desserts instead.
