This is the worst place we have ever used for a cake/tea. When we arrived, there was NO friendliness; brick flooring which scrapes the chairs. The prices would be more fitting for John Lewis/Waitrose and THE give more value for money. When the miserable proprietor asked a total amount to pay, she did not understand my request for breakdown if total as all cakes are NOT priced, now we know why! I would not visit Aldwinkles again even if it was the last standing ‘coffee’ bar in the town.

I loved it here, nice big pot of strong tea, great breakfast, cosy and even quaint.

Most surprised at the negative comments above. I’ve been going here almost weekly for a number of years and always found the service from all the lovely staff there excellent. Perhaps it should stay as ‘Harborough’s Little Secret’ then only those of us who enjoy going need do so.

a nice friendly quaint coffee shop near the centre of market harborough serving paninis, sandwhiches, toasties, jacket potatoes, scrambled eggs & breakfasts, toasted teacakes, crumpets, scones & cakes, of which my favourite is the caramel traybake. for the winter there is chocolate pudding in chocolate sauce, treacle pudding & custard. for summer there is ice cream. drinks include, obviously, cappucino, latte and ordinary coffee from a coffee machine and a whole range of teas including decaffinated plus the best smoothies in market harborough, apple juice, orange juice, coca-cola & milk shakes with ice cream

This place used to be good now it is very poor and expensive, you may get a service of sorts(the only way to get the food delivered!) but there were no smiles or any indication that you were welcome. I feel ripped off by the meager portions and the excessive cost. I(three of us) went today and had scrambled egg on toast, beans on toast and a paninni type baggette. They gave use the thinest toast, burnt for the beans and egg and the paninni had two slivers(bits) of bacon and two bits of mushroom for which we were charged £3.50 for each egg and beans(cheapest you could buy I feel) on toast and £4.75 for the paninni type, what a rip off, you left there feeling still hungry and with an empty wallet. There were three other people across from us who left most of their food uneaten and were agog when charged £25 for the privilage. The standard there is well below par as was the food and I for one will never go there again.

I had a lovely lunch here in Market Harborough. The café is on two levels and also has outdoor seating. They serve sandwiches, salads, coffee, tea and cold drinks, but are mainly known for excellent puddings and cakes. I can attest that their feta and roast vegetable wrap with mixed salad leaves and tortilla chips on the side is first rate, that the service is prompt and friendly and that their prices are very reasonable. I had a great time there, and I am very hard to please.
