A really enjoyable lunch at an excellent price in a spacious and peaceful café. The food was brilliant and the staff were really friendly. There was a nice shelf of buddhist books to read and a little gift shop of beautiful smelling incense. The coffee was also really nice and they had an extensive selection of tasty cakes with lots of gluten free and vegan options. Thoroughly recommended :)

The brand-new café in the Buddhist Centre on High Lane in Chorlton I should say, one of the Buddhist centres, which tells you everything you need to know about the area is a lovely, light-filled space and a very pleasant place for lunch or just a drink. I had the spinach and coconut dhal there last week and it was delicious beautifully served with three onion bhajis on the side, some rice and sweet chilli sauce. A light, healthy but filling meal, which I also thought was very good value at £4.95. You can help yourself to tap water, and the papers are available, making this a very peaceful solo lunching spot. They serve very nice Tea Pig teas as well, and the hot chocolate I had was lovely. There are plenty of tables for eating, or you can grab a spot on one of the sofas at the back and while away an hour or two with a book. The whole atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing the music is kept low as well. I think you can really tell this place is run by Buddhists something in the attention to detail and simplicity of the whole approach. The staff are volunteers, so presumably are there because they want to be, which adds something to the atmosphere as well. Highly recommended.
