This was on my list of go-tos for Manchester as I was planning my food itinerary as I’ve followed them on social media for a while and they’re a 100% vegan café. Their concept is quite simple in that it’s vegan junk food offering lots of comfort options such as jumbo hotdogs with ‘cheese’ and crispy onions, and chicken burger with eggfree mayo and ‘cheese’. You don’t get chips as an option, but tortilla chips, and though I did miss having fries alongside my burger I think it’s a good idea in terms of less energy getting used, keeps costings down(so cheaper on the customers’ pockets), and provides a naturally gluten free side. Probably healthier than frozen chips too, tortilla chips are almost like salad really, if you think about it. :) They also sell lots of meat free, egg free, and dairy free popular brands such as Fry’s chicken and red meat substitutes, Vegusto and Violife cheeses, and Moofree chocolate and Vego bars. I had lovely chats with the friendly staff on their previous visit to Glasgow and its vegan restaurants, and about their move to a bigger, nearby, location later in the year and their Asian dishes which they may be adding to their extended menu. For coffees they offer hemp milk with americanos — less likely to curdle than soya milk — and use Bonsoy milk for their lattes. I know I’d be in there regularly if I lived in Manchester.

Amazing amazing amazing! Since travelling California a few months ago(which is the best vegan friendly place on earth), we’ve struggled to find anywhere which has even a scratch on the numerous drive thru’s, diners, restaurants, snack bars, shops, supermarkets… We stumbled across this place without any research after the Christmas markets and my word it’s my favourite place in about a 50 mile radius! The Heisenburger is what we both had, with a portion of nachos(with the vegan cheese fully melted too!!). Portions could be bigger but you can double up, so that was our mistake I suppose. It’s on par with an American diner & so fully meets our requirements after our recent experiences in the US. Tickled my tastebuds. They also have a freezer full of Fry’s frozen goods, and a fridge full of items to be purchased(including ‘pizza cheese’, bottled juices, Greek gyros and other vegan foods — there is too much to choose from!). Tables were all full when we arrived, we opted to wait(with comfy seating) rather than order take-out. I had a blueberry milkshake with ice cream. However the milk used was a bit watery for my liking, but I am picky with my soya milk. All items are cooked on a mini hot plate which is a part of kitchen next to the counter & for all to witness. 10⁄10 — I’ve already recommended for all my family to visit here too.

I really wanted to give V Rev five stars purely because it serves vegan junk food! OMG! Heaven has arrived! I’ve been a couple of times now and whilst the food is totally fantastic my only small gripe is that the staff can sometimes be a little ‘zoned out’ — on both occasions I’ve been they’ve got at least one thing on the order wrong, and when the menu isn’t exactly huge it does make me wonder a little. But, they always fix any issues and so I won’t grumble too much. Overall, great place, great location(Northern Quarter area) and good price as well. Oh, and they also sell lots of vegan goodies to take out as well.

Really fun. Some items weren’t available but the food was yummy. Wish we had proper chips on the side instead of tortilla chips! The BBQ burger was fantastic and the rose & raspberry cake was great. Loads of nice vegan chocolates that you don’t always see outside of cities.

Great to see an ALL vegan food options. Nice Americana diner environment, although undermind by the scream metal music that was playing in the café. Limited choice of food selections, all of which were processed and pre-packaged.

Dirty junk food but all vegan! Also a small shop with vinyl at the back. Styled like an American diner and with a menu to match this cute little café in the northern quarter is completely vegan. The menu has burgers, hotdogs and sandwiches along with a range of hot and cold drinks. I ordered the hamdog, a jumbo hotdog with ‘cheese’, gherkins, crispy onions and burger sauce. I’m a wannabe vegan due to my yoga teacher training. All the vegan yoga teachers look so full of energy, maybe veganism is the key to eternal life. I enjoyed my meal, I won’t be dreaming about it the way I so with steak but it was edible. They also sell a range of vegan food and drinks so you can go vegan at home too. I’ll be coming in regularly now so I can expand my understanding of vegan options and browse their vinyl section in the shop.
