The Turnpike… Drum roll…
Anyone who’s seen this pub will know that the drum roll was necessary. It looks nothing short of the most unwelcoming public house in the land. In fact it looks anything but public, with a flat front and a closed door, and at least one ominous looking man smoking outside at all times.
Its very much like a Royal British Legion bar or a local conservative club or something of the like, and I have to say I wasn’t surprised by what I found inside.
It’s a pub really for the few locals that they have and not really for anyone else. Having said that, they weren’t in any way unwelcoming and it was a fine place to sit and read my paper.
