This place is fantastic. Full of friendly locals. Great affordable beer(lots of local beer). Not sure why it has four £ signs. Also came for curry night and that was only £4.50 and you can choose up to two curries. It tasted fantastic and I was tempted to order more. Samosas were 4 for £2. If I lived within walking distance to this bar, I would be here every other night. Keep up the good work guys!

This place is ace! They have curry night on Wednesday and the citrus are really tasty and only £4.50 for 2 the value is unbeatable and way above the usual pub fare when it comes to curry, the beers are always excellent too, you can usually find something different that you’ve not seen anywhere else and also really affordable, then there’s the place itself, full of quirky charm and genuine character… And characters… Just how a proper pub should be This place is hard to beat, just make sure you don’t all take my table on a Wednesday night :)

Been frequenting this pub for 20 years. Very rustic and always with plenty of real ales. I have spent many, many nights here. Something not real well known is the food. Wednesday night is curry night and it is delicious. I had a Crescent burger this visit that was without doubt the best burger I have ever has in the UK. It was amazing. Lots of regulars and lots of students. A nice mix.

Out for a few Friday night drinks recently, we headed to The Crescent after a few starter drinks at The King’s Arms. Now, this is out of ‘the way’ for most people — about 10 minutes from the junction by Salford Central — but I can see the appeal if a) you live right nearby and b) you fancy setting up for the evening in a relaxed atmosphere. Inside it’s your standard pub vibe, with a few rooms which house seating and sometimes live music, with a quiz taking place on a Monday(I think.) Service was quick and friendly, and there seemed to be a great range of beer and cider on offer. The best thing? The price — £7.50 for a round of 3 pints isn’t to be sniffed at. Good if you’re looking for a proper boozer!

this is salfords premier ale-house, the crème-de-la-crème the story goes that marx and engels thrashed out the communist manifesto in the front room, the place is living history, you can feel it in the woodwork, the landlord is a real nice bloke of the old school, he keeps some lovely ale in tip top condition. (its not the dearest place either!!) class pub, class ale, class bloke!!!

«One of those!» This place is open, friendly, chill, classic, hip without even remotely trying to be, and just full of a nutty mix of good people from all walks. The absolute best place to drink in the area and one of my favorite watering holes in the whole world. Drink: Simply the best beers you could ask for. Locals/Micro’s, Macros and even a few European or Belgians on draft… and a remarkable bottle selection. So spoiled for quality choice that you’ll leave you stumbling and smiling every time. I like sitting with my favourites, listening to tunes, talking with the wanderers and regulars; and just enjoying pint after pint. Not a dozen big screens for everyone to blankly stare at. The«beer pub» at it’s best. Crisps and a hollands hot-box ensure that there is no reason for you to have to leave. Talk about a wolf in sheeps clothes.

I love the Crescent. Having this across the road is one of the things I miss about living in Salford… Ash’s weekly pub quiz, the cracking Erdinger and the ramshackle outdoor smoking area with the patio heaters. No one can be unhappy here because they serve just about every beer for every taste. There are a ton of fruit beers which my girlfriend loves, bottled and on tap, and some really interesting cask ales. In fact if you’re feeling adventurous and want to try something new, they’ll let you have a shot of it for free. I was intrigued by Lone Wolf(Blades of Glory reference), it might not have been for me as it turned out, but at least I was given the opportunity to sample it! It also serves some food, and it’s recently come under new management so I’ll have to nip back and see what changes have been made. But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it because this is a really nice pub and popular among students and locals. Some of the best nights out start in the Crescent — it’s that kind of place!

Ooh. Ever fancied becoming a cheap date? There’s a sure fire way. Last time I was at the Crescent I drank a mere two half pints of Cherry Kriek, which is always my default go-to when the Timmermans is off. And goodness me, I was as tiddly as I could be. Just at the right stage too, chatty and happy as opposed to… falling over and slurry. The Crescent just gets better and better. It’s recently started an open mic night on Sundays with the promise of a free pint for all who perform and there are a few posters knocking about for other exciting events too. I attended one of the open mics one evening after a dinner at Dough, and it was really interesting — an eclectic bunch of performers of all ages, even one soulful presumably student crooner who the BF looked at and pretty much got dollar signs in his eyes. I swear he’s destined to be a music manager, he was talking about ‘mass appeal’. The quiz is even more excellent now that it’s run by the blonde’s boyfriend, and he really does have a talent for it — as we all keep saying he might have a future in bingo hall calling. No, but really, if he’s absent and someone else stands in you do miss him. Another intriguing addition is a ‘Safe to Drive?’ breathalyser from Canada, on the wall next to the jukebox. You blow through a straw. It’s rather quirky, and heck, it could save lives!

You probably wouldn’t venture in looking from the outside but once inside what a treat! A Camra pub for over 20 years, there is something for everyone. Food is excellent and under a fiver. Guest beers, curry nights and free chip barms. It is well worth a visit and won’t cost you a fortune.

The Crescent is as it’s name suggests located near to Salford crescent railway station and opposite the main campus of Salford University. It boasts a wide selection of ‘real ales’ in a semi-rustic and no frills setting whilst offering an excellent food menu. The toilets are clean, the juke box is satisfying to many tastes and walks of life and the staff are friendly, what more could you ask for really?!

It looks a real dump from the outside but be brave and enter because this is a real serious Manc boozer. The clientele is a little oddball with a healthy mix of students(Salford Uni is just across the road) dodgy gangland types and old grannies. They used to have some fairly decent indie bands on years ago with very ‘late licences’ but that seems to have changed now. Most are pretty friendly and the beer is dirt cheap.
