Firstly, the wonderful lady helped assist us to find the best dinner and beer to accompany it. She then spent time making us welcome and charged my phone for us. This place is somewhere you can enjoy rather than worry about others. Highly recommended

Only been in here a couple times but every time we’ve visited we’ve had a great time. Really love the comfy sofa near the bar. The app said there was a check in offer we didn’t ask tho. Place was friendly enough and staff served quickly. Great music playing in the background. Toilets were surprisingly clean. I didn’t find this place selling cheap drinks i know Manchester is a city but £4.10 a pint, plenty of cheaper places around. All in all a great bar!

So much less than its Bridge Street counterpart, this venue cannot decide what type of bar it is and as such alienates all but the most avid ‘I want to drink with mates and shout to be heard’ type of people. It is a shame as the Bridge is quite nice and seems much more certain oif what kind of bar it is(Sunday roast carvery is great at the bridge)

B Lounge is a mixed cup of tea. It has some great live mic nights on from time to time, but having been here a few times when there’s nothing going on I really can’t see the appeal. The venue looks it’s trying to achieve a glamorous look but misses the mark the beer selection isn’t great either. It’s not a place i’ll be visiting again unless for a specific night. There are a lot more places with character and ambience than the B Lounge near piccadilly.

I found this pub strangely confusing… I would class it as a step down from spoons, sticky floor, weird people, bit of a rubbish drinks selection and REALLYLOUDMUSICSOYOUCAN’T SPEAKTOANYONE! Some friends really like it here but I just find it odd! Drinks are not cheap– still £4 for a peroni and for koppaberg and its normally full of rowdy football mental people! Staff always seem a bit confused/harassed and forget a lot of things! I don’t have anything against cheaper pubs etc but for a cheap pub for drinks and food I would always go to wetherspoons rather than here– sorry!

I’ll forever know this place as The Brunswick and I prefer it how it used to be, but still, it’s always got a lively and mixed crowd in here(never been in on a week day when it hasn’t been full of boozy city centre workers). Watch out for the house white wine(it’s not even a chardonnay, not sure what it was but we sent it back) which is absolutely horrid. The house red is a lovely shiraz so not sure why they can’t offer a cheap pinot grigio or similar. The staff seemed a bit clueless and managed to mess up our order. We drank one bottle of house red and that was the last of their stock for the day. I wasn’t too impressed that they didn’t offer a replacement. Wasn’t overly enthralled with the service, the cocktail list or anything else, but the location, cosy atmosphere and low prices make it an essential drinking hole every now and then, especially when meeting friends near the train station. It’s easy to find and slightly ‘classier’ than the nearby Wetherspoons and Piccadilly Tavern!

There’s one word that comes to mind when you visit B Lounge, and that is cosy. It’s like a celebrity’s living room, except one that hasn’t been staged by a record company. It has a lived in feel. It’s rustic and romantic, and you instantly feel at ease there. The only qualm I have however is that at the time we went during office lunch hours and did genuinely wait 45 minutes for our food once we’d ordered. It’s such a shame because this place is really is great, and the food is brilliant, but many staff members whose line managers were less lenient than mine found themselves inhaling their food once it arrived and running back to the office. And it wasn’t busy at all. But forgetting about that little glitch, the onion rings were the nicest I’ve tried in all of Manchester, and the roasted vegetable and feta cheese tart was a treat. The pastry was perhaps slightly too hard, I’m not someone who minds that at all but I know people can get fussy about pastry so that’s something to bear in mind. I’d recommend B Lounge more for a couple than a group, although our party of eight had a fantastic lunch there. The secluded and luxurious vibe is perfect for cuddling up to a loved one and whispering sweet nothings over the bread basket. The bar area is extremely comfortable and attractive too, certainly ripe for a post-work wind-down. Glass of wine, sink back into a big soft chair, and relax. Ahh. What more could you ask.

The Brunswick, previously called Finnigans Wake, is a proper pub situated on the run up to Piccadilly Station in the centre of Manchester. Unless you’re willing to deviate from the very centre, then the quality of bars and pubs is not excellent, and The Brunkswick is one of your better options. It’s a grand building on the corner of Piccadilly, contributing to its atmosphere and impressive architeture. Its got a full bar but the drinks are nothing particularly special. One of its nicest features is the few tables outside, which are good for smokers or on a sunny day. However, its right on the main road so its pretty busy. The down side of this is that you don’t get a peaceful drink, and the plus side is that you get to watch loads of people walking past. Yes that is a bit weird.

Yup, B Lounge is a rather nice little place, offering a back-to-basics approach by appearing for all the world like a showroom for home furnishings. It feels like you’ve just wandered into a house than a bar/lounge, and that’s a fairly unusual feeling to have. Cherish it, because you don’t find it many other places. They have a variety of food offers on at various times throughout the week so it becomes fairly reasonable, and the quality is pretty good. Drinks are about average pricing for Manchester, so students will see them as expensive, no-one else will really mind. It’s out of the way anyway, so it’s unlikely they’d even find their way there.

I really like B Lounge. It has a rustic charm and the long tables, fireplaces and dining-room décor gives it that homely feel. In the summer the tables outside in the decked garden area provides respite to the bustling city cente. The food isn’t bad either. I’ve had the sandwich and soup deal(for £5.95) which is available at lunchtimes Monday to Wednesday. We’ve also had the meat mezze on a Friday night, when there’s also specials on drinks(a double and mixer for £3.50). Perfect for your start to the evening or a cheap lunch out.
