Oldest bakers in Manchester. Lovely homemade bread. Also great sandwiches and cakes!

Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum. Oh and once more YUM! What does Manchester not have enough of? Bakeries. What does it certainly not have nearly enough of? MASTER BAKERS!
Robinson’s is a wonderful family run bakery based in Failsworth, but should be no stranger to anyone who has recently visited the Manchester Christmas markets or the Real Food Market on Piccadilly gardens.
So many scrumptious cakes, pies, snacks and treats are on offer — particular favourites of mine were the pork and apple pies (or the pork and pickle, close call), the Manchester tarts (well you’ve obviously got to make the local specialities well) and the ginger flapjack — of which I could write a whole review in itself (soft, chewy, oaty, syrupy deliciousness is the bridged version).
of course the star of the show, which you would expect of any master bakers, is the bread — both the wholemeal and the white are shining examples of what’s wrong with the bread you get practically everywhere else nowadays — there’s no stodge here, it’s all fresh and squidgy in the middle and yummy for sandwiches.
Don’t let the location perturb you, if you can get out to Failsworth then it’s well worth taking the trip for — if not you can try and catch them at the real food market on occasion where they’ll be in attendance with tasty treats and snacks. Be sure to try any seasonal goodies too as these guys aren’t shoddy when it come to making something delicious out of ingredients that are in season (as the various mince meat Christmas muffins and pies that were on sale at the Christmas Markets went to show).

I’ve been going to Robinsons for two years now, it’s my favourite bakers!
I love trying out their new breads (my favourites are the corn bread and pantique) and the American Muffins! I’ve recently tried their lemon merangue cup cakes and they ARE amazing!!!
I usually go in every Saturday and it feels great to see regular customers. Staff is very friendly and they know many customers by name!
I have ordered cup cakes for several events at work and they were very well received!
