So I had finally moved in, I’d conquered the rental market and found a great new Manchester pad, but something was missing… As I stood at the foot of my new living room, gazing upon a bleak, baron landscape of crumpled magazines, tea stained mugs and an old battered radio, an insatiable thirst for some shiny tech washed over me — I needed a whopping great big TV and something to pump those beats out at ear bleeding volumes… Marching down the Deansgate, flustered and windswept, I stormed into Richer Sounds — my place of choice to undercut the larger home entertainment retailers and bag a jolly good bargain. Upon entry I was acknowledged immediately, then guided like royalty around the shop’s wares with care and detail. I was free to liberally prod, poke and pump up the jam as if Technotronic themselves had commanded me thus. Alas! After much deliberation, absorption of advice and bartering(of which is well worth doing at Richer Sounds) I successfully snagged a saucy widescreen LCDTV, top quality HDMI cables, some new beefy speakers, haggled lashings of speaker cord and even managed to squeeze in a coaxial cable — my swag was immense and I’d managed it for a modest price. Boxes all taped up, padded out and ready for shipment I plucked out my manliest carrying stance and attempted to load each item upon my buckling frame — assuring the caring staff that a taxi would not be needed. Before I made it out of the door, a cab had already been ordered and I duly entered — did I mention it was pre paid by those lovely people at Richer Sounds? I now reside in home entertainment heaven and thoroughly recommended a visit to Richer Sounds should you wish to join me there.

Yeah richer sounds is boom ting. I too love a big soundsystem with separate components. I not only want an amp, several speakers for the front and back, a CD deck and a vinyl top, but I even want a subwoofer. If I have to sacrifice a load of sound quality in order to get these things at a reasonable price instead of buying a small boring digital soundsystem, then so be it! Here they’ve got a great selection of cool soundsystems to deck out your new flat(no pun intended). If you buy one you will be really cool, all the girls will fancy you and you will be full of confidence all the time. Fact.

I am a huge fan of Richer Sounds. Since the age of sixteen or so, I grew tired of having an all-in-one cd player radio thing with a tape deck thing with a couple of space age looking speakers that was all made of plastic and probably came from Argos. No, what I wanted was a big, grown-up looking stack of units, one for the cd player, one for the radio, a record deck, an amplifier unit and some nice tall, mature-looking speakers to plug the whole set-up into. Normally you wouldn’t be able to afford this kind of clobber, but that is where Richer Sounds comes in. What they do is stock discount ranges of all of this great gear, selling it at reasonable and competitive prices. There are always loads of staff in Richer Sounds and this Manchester branch is no different. They’re friendly, personable and ready to help.

If you don’t have the cash to splash out on a Bang & Olufsen, your best choice is to check out what they have in stock at Richer Sounds. An electronics specialist with stores across the country, Richer Sounds stock individual stereo seperates and systems at heavily discounted prices. The catch is that they only get a limited number of each item — so if you see a turntable /amplifier /speaker /CD player that takes your eye, don’t sleep on it. Everything is boxed and guaranteed and the staff are happy to set up equipment in the Demo Room if you want to listen before you buy. Amazingly, this particular store also offers a service where you get your parking paid for if you buy anything. On the stereo right now:
