First time visit tonight after hearing my boyfriend rave about it — he was completely right! We went for the 2-course deal, there were so many options and we had got 4 different dishes — all were amazing, my main in particular(the chicken with homemade turmeric sauce — I NEED the sauce recipe!) — incredible. Lovely wine menu too which always helps :) And an abundance of mints with the bill — a lovely touch for someone with a tooth as sweet as mine!

Eaten here many times. Location is great. Friendly staff, great cocktails and price is pretty consistent for Manchester. Takeaways isn’t always available. Overall great place and great tasting food. Perfect to start a night out in Northern Quarter.

Om nom nom nom. This was my birthday treat meal, and it did the job brilliantly. I’d been dying to check Ning out for ages and I was so happy I took the celebration of my coming into existence to do so. It speaks massively of Ning’s popularity when the entire restaurant was full at 7.30pm on a Wednesday, and while my SO and I made goo-goo eyes at each other and interlocked fingers over the centrepiece in our cosy little corner, the banquet table adjacent to us was filled with post-work party-peeps who were definitely enjoying the Tsingtao and the food. They might have been a little loud and enthusiastic, but heck they were having a good time! Always a positive sign. On the way over in the taxi, I had one Bex T on the phone who told me that the roti canai is an essential ordering item(as her review states). Chris knew exactly what she was talking about. Both have been to the Far East and I instantly felt under-travelled and uncultured. But that all melted away completely once we’d ordered it along with our prawn crackers and sweet chilli. This is excellent food. Think a warm paratha, all buttery and flaky, only with more of a pancakey consistency, then imagine it dipped in coconutty-curry creamy hot goodness. Yep, I could not get enough of that starter. I wanted about a hundred of those rotis. When the mains came I was thrilled. My seafood noodles contained massive juicy prawns, tails still on, squid and mussels, all of which were cooked tenderly. No rubbery fruits de la mer here! The spice-level was just right and the veggies retained their crunch. The mister had the genius idea of ordering an extra jug of peanut sauce for his satay that was pretty much an orgasm in a pot. He had to stop me from commandeering it so he could pour it over his own noodles as intended, as I wanted to dip everything on the table into it. Even the centrepiece. The service is efficient, sharp as a tack, and the food is completely lush. I also love the boutiquey décor. Ning’s on my faves list for sure.
