If you want a great night with a buzzing atmosphere, a fabulously glitter ball of a club this place is just amazing.
The place is always full of friendly people dancing the night away, the music and entertainment are great and it’s the one place I always go on a night out!
You need to check this place out… NOW!

Popped in here before a Unilocal event at urban cookhouse as we were a little early.
Greeted by a friendly guy behind the bar. The place is very glitzy and has glitter on the walls! I’m sure it is a good pub later on when more people in but as there was only a few in there it was lacking atmosphere.
Prices were cheap. Just over a fiver for a vodka coke and a pint.

Well what can i say I had my 37^th Big Birthday Bash here. The DJ and music provided by Tracey was simply brilliant. Catered to all our needs. Kept us all going all night and very good value for money.
The venue upstairs is beautiful. Great sized room. Private toilet. Good size bar. The space is used so you can stand and chat dance. Do full on routines if you want (which i never did contrary to popular rumours lol)
The staff are lovely and I got a really good deal on fizz that was delicious and flowing all night.
I think if you want a good size room for no more than about a 100 people in a good safe and easy to get to location. With friendly staff. Great value for money and an amazing venue. This is the place.
I would highly recommend this. My hangover the next day however was well worth it although my body didn’t grew at the time.

NY NY is a great bar where you can dance like no one is looking and let your hair down! Not at all pretentious, the staff and crowd are always very welcoming. The DJ plays a variation of new and old music, so if you’re into some Beyonce but love it when Club Tropicana comes on, NY is the place for you! If you’re lucky enough to be in town when Peggy Wessex is, please go and see her Drag Show. My favourite song… You Give Me Beaver! Hilarious :)

Another hollowen night and another chance to go in costume
this time as cleopatra.
Having been here before we all decided to try it again
Entrance fee was a donation in a bucket.
Inside is quite large and the place was heaving with people and the crowd in here were all striaght.
Drinks which are my usual alcopops are around £3 each and
you get served pretty quickly.
The music in here was probably the best in the whole viliage as it
plays old and new as well as dance and pop so it catters for everyone.
We did try someother clubs in the area as well but new york new york
was the best for me.
Having had a great time in here and dancing til the early hours new york
new york is a hit with me but having been here twice
its now time to move on to a diffrent area, diffrent place and having another
very good time somewhere else.

I came here on a Monday night and they had some music playing. There were about 10 people in there and they all seem to be having a pretty good time. The music was alright. I had a few drinks which weren’t priced too bad. Not a bad spot at all.

That random one line review hits the nail on the head really. It’s a real good mix of gays, straights and whatever other sexual orientations you can think of, all having a laugh to some terrible cheesy music that we all love really.
They have stuff going on most nights. I’m not sure that weekends mean anything to canal street anyway.
Drinks are average for the area but pretty good compared to the rest of the centre of town. Lots of fruity alcopops and shots but also decent beers. Its about drinking lots, dancing lots and smiling lots, with no dirty looks or rowdiness. Plenty of places in the area like it, but still a good four stars.

Its a nighclub on the outskirts of the Canal Street area… so you get the mix of hen parties, gays and straights all dancing to a dj flipping cds. The bartenders and crowd are pretty friendly.

Love the karaōke here during the week. Always friendly and drinks are cheap. DJ box facing the bar, seating area next to the bar and chill out area on other side venue. Always pay this place a visit when in Manchester’s gay village. Very down to earth. Small bar next door with pool table, this is more for the older crowd.

The music is fantastic the atmosphere is great and the cabaret (not sure how you spell it) was excellent.
The only problem with this bar is that it used to get really really hot. Because it was so popular it wasn’t unusual to see a queue outside the bar but it was always worth the wait.

If you want a good night out, gay or straight — go to New York New York. Great music, good atmosphere, cheesy music to dance too and I love it! :)
